Migrating from Earlier Versions

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Service Center data can be migrated from earlier versions at the same time that the standard MAS 90(r) is migrated.   Here are the steps to follow for a successful migration to version 4.40.

1.Install the new 4.40 version of MAS 90 and all the product updates according to the instructions for a parallel installation.  You do not need to install Service Center in the new location yet.  This will be done after the migration.
2.Follow the important pre-migration steps that Sage Software recommends, including the analysis of inventory and general ledger, and the rebuilding of keyed files.
3.Perform the migration of the system and company data according to the standard instructions.
4.Install Service Center 4.40 after the migration, but before conversion.
5.Start MAS 90(r) or MAS 200(r) and modify the roles to give your user access to the ASI Additions Control Panel on the Library Master Setup menu.
6.Run the level conversions from Company Maintenance.  This will convert your Service Center data along with all the other modules.
7.Activate the Service Center module using the ASI Additions Control Panel.  Do this for all the companies you are planning to convert that have Service Center data to convert.
