I would like to take this statement a bit further and suggest that any pilot program be run with all stakeholders in the ERP implementation process. As Brian mentioned in his article, this is where the best intelligence will come from for a smooth and efficient ERP implementation. Implementing your new ERP software system certainly takes a lot of extra work, but it is one of those things that is worth getting right the first time. By running a pilot program, you can flush out the little things that may cause problems during the implementation.
