Having made the announcement late last year, Sage plans to release Sage 100 2026 exclusively as a 64-bit application.
In short, Sage 100 2026 will no longer run on a 32-bit Windows system so a little planning now could go a long way when the new release is available, likely in April 2026.
End of Support for 32-Bit
Without getting into the technical details of performance and memory limitations, security concerns, and other issues, Microsoft is ending support for the 32-bit Windows 10 platform in October of 2025. As such, Sage is following the lead by migrating Sage 100 exclusively to 64-bit.
Preparing for the Change
While the switch to 64-bit presents an opportunity to modernize Sage 100 for better performance and scalability, it can also present challenges—particularly as it relates to compatibility with any integrations or third-party applications you may also be running.
A little preparation now can save you some headaches down the road.
